SPOCE has now been operating for more than 17 years, and as we come towards the end of 2011, I thought it would be a good opportunity to reflect on the past year.
New Accreditations
This last year has seen SPOCE become accredited for delivering new methods including:
- Management of Portfolios (MoP)
- Management of Value (MoV)
- Portfolio, Programme and Project Offices (P3O)
- IT Service management (ITIL)
These new courses join PRINCE2, MSP and M_o_R to make SPOCE one of the few organisations accredited for all Cabinet Office methods and guidance.
Staff Changes at SPOCE
2011 has also seen a number of new faces here at SPOCE. Mike Allen joined us from the OGC in March, bringing a wealth of knowledge and experience in the OGC methods and guidance. Mike is Head of Customer Services and is responsible for ensuring all of SPOCE's customers receive the best customer service possible.
Sammie Murphy and Tom Mills also joined the Training Advisors Team, providing advice and information on SPOCE's ever growing public course programme.
Clients Awards
We are proud to be associated with Moorhouse Consulting who won the APM Award for Project Management Company of the Year. SPOCE has been providing project, programme and portfolio management training to Moorhouse Consulting for over 5 years.
Congratulations also go to Harrow Council which was named the Best Achieving Council in the UK at the prestigious MJ Awards in June, which recognised outstanding performance in local government. SPOCE has been proviging project management training at Harrow Council for over 4 years.
"I am very grateful to Spoce Project Management Ltd for delivering successful MSP and PRINCE2 courses at Harrow. This gave us the perfect grounding to set up a corporate PMO at a time when the Council began its journey to transform services. We now have an established cross council programme with good project and programme management arrangements in place. The PMO continues to improve and are currently reviewing arrangements in preparation for the next phase of the programme. I have no doubt that the learning experience with Spoce played its part in giving us the confidence to set up and deliver our transformation programme." Harrow Council.
2012 - What Next?
Next year is an exciting one for SPOCE. We have doubled the course schedule, running PRINCE2 courses in London every week, and increasing the venues to cover more of the UK and Ireland.
The new development of MSP Passport distance learning will be released in Q1, and other e-Learning developments will follow for other methods in Q2 and Q3. SPOCE's latest version of Mini-Method will be released in the New Year - this has been updated for i-Pad, i-Phone and Android, and is a must have for all those very small projects - and it's free!
We are also working on a number of apps for the i-Phone and Android smartphones to provide useful tools for project managers. If you would like to be kept informed of future developments, click here and submit your information.
I would like to take this opportunity of thanking all our customers for continuing to use SPOCE for their accredited training. I am proud to be able to provide a first class service which delivers quality, service and innovation.
I would also like to thank my splendid team at SPOCE for their continued commitment and support.
